Most people see tanning beds as a quick fix for sun-kissed skin, since you can spend less time in a bed than outside in the real sun to get the same effects. The truth is, lots of sun exposure is unhealthy for many reasons, whether it's in a tanning bed or not. The side effects can be extensive, the most obvious being sunburned epidermis. Sunburn reactions can be as minimal as slight discoloration of the skin or as severe as blisters, sun poisoning, chills and fever. Tanning beds generally release around 95 percent ultraviolet radiation. This is three times what the sun releases. So think twice before taking a trip to the tanning bed on your honeymoon, and always wear SPF lotion when you are out in the sun.
