A Candle Shield is a craft project for kids that makes an ideal holiday gift. Since you can't see the candle behind your shield, it will seem as if your picture is glowing all by itself.
How to Make a Candle Shield
What You'll Need:
- Heavy-Duty Aluminum Foil
- Blunt Scissors
- Permanent Marker
Step One: Cut three 8-inch squares from the aluminum foil. Place the 3 foil squares on top of each other. Fold the edges over about 1 inch on each side.
Step Two: Use a permanent marker to draw a design, such as a jack-o'-lantern, on the foil. Place the foil on a soft surface such as a rug or a piece of foam. Following the lines of the drawing, punch out the jack-o'-lantern design using a pushpin.
Step Three: Curve the foil so that it stands up about 3 inches in the front of the candle. (Make sure there is a base under the candle to catch wax drips.)
Step Four: Light the candle and the Candle Shield with your family.
