This art project will have your head spinning. Watch as paints mix and swirl to become new colors.
What You'll Need:
- Cardboard box (with high sides)
- Cork or small wood block
- Blunt scissors
- Drawing paper or construction paper
- Removable tape
- Poster paints
Step 1: With an adult's help, carefully push a nail through the middle of the bottom of the cardboard box so that it pokes through. Then push a cork onto the nail. (Or use a hammer to gently tap a wood block onto the nail.)
Step 2: Cover your work area with newspaper. Cut a piece of paper to fit inside the box. Tape the paper inside the box to hold it in place. Put dabs of slightly watered-down poster paint all over the paper.
Step 3: Hold the cork (or block) and spin the box. The paint will fly toward the sides of the box. Untape the paper from the box. Place it on your work surface to dry.
What can you make that's as light as a feather, but has a pattern of solid stone? Keep reading to find out.
