Sculpture crafts for kids are so easy and fun to make. Once completed, the finished products can adorn bedrooms, bathrooms, or the living room. You could even give your masterpiece to someone else as a gift.

The best thing about making sculpture crafts is that you don't need to be a master to create a masterpiece. The designs don't need to be perfect -- in fact, those imperfections are what make your crafts unique. Just make sure an adult is nearby for some of these crafts since you might need a sharp knife.

Assembled Sculpture

Collect objects with interesting shapes and textures, and create unique assembled sculptures.

What You'll Need:

  • Household objects
  • Shoe box lid
  • Craft glue
  • Poster paint and paintbrush (optional)

How to Create an Assembled Sculpture:

Step 1: Look around your house for a variety of objects such as empty spools, buttons, and paper clips. Try to find items in different sizes, shapes, and textures. You might look for all round items, all long items, or all rough and smooth items.

Step 2: Once you have gathered the objects, assemble them in a design on the inside of a shoe box lid. Try for balance in shapes, textures, or size throughout the arrangement.

Step 3: After your design is in place, glue the objects to the lid. If you want, paint everything in one color before you glue them to the lid to add emphasis to your design.

Build a soft sponge sculpture that you can even use in the tub. Watch it grow as it absorbs water.

What You'll Need:

  • Assorted colors of sponge
  • Fabric glue
  • Blunt scissors

How to Make a Sponge Sculpture:

Step 1: Cut up sponges to make a sponge boat. To make the base of the boat, cut off the corners of one end of a sponge so it comes to a point.

Step 2: Cut an oval shape from another sponge in a different color. Use a third color to cut two small squares for the top of the boat. Glue the oval shape on top of the boat base.

Step 3: Glue the two small squares on top of the oval shape. The fabric glue allows you to use the sponges in the top without falling apart. Make more sponge sculptures for the tub. Cut out fish shapes -- even little hamburgers and hot dogs.

What You'll Need:

  • Soap flakes
  • Medium-size bowl
  • Spoon
  • Water
  • Food coloring
  • Scented oil (optional)
  • Waxed paper

How to Make Soap Sculptures:

Step 1: Pour some soap flakes in a medium-size bowl. Gradually stir in water until the mixture reaches a stiff, dough-like consistency. Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture to make colored soaps. If you want to make scented soaps, add a few drops of scented oil to the batch.

Step 2: Cover your work surface with waxed paper. Place the dough on the waxed paper, and sculpt it into shapes such as shells, butterflies, or hearts. Let them dry overnight. Place them in a gift box, and give them to your friends or family members.
