Make science fiction a reality by building a model space station. It's a fun way to explore the outer reaches of your imagination.
What You'll Need:
- Aluminum foil
- Clean foam food trays (from fruits or vegetables only)
- Paper cups
- Scrap paper
- Transparent tape
- Craft glue
- Oatmeal cartons
- Paper plates
- Paper tubes
Step 1: Cover boxes, foam food trays, and paper cups with aluminum foil and white paper. Hold the foil and paper in place with tape or glue.
Step 2: Design a space insignia and draw it on some of the pieces. Have an adult cut out windows and landing pads. Tape all the pieces together to create a space station.
Step 3: Have an adult help you hang your space station with string in a doorway. Tape or glue foil around paper towel tubes, oatmeal cartons, and paper plates to make space shuttles and flying saucers. Have an adult cut out the bay doors, and add the wings, the tail, and the nose. Fly your spaceships in and out of the space station.
