Let the music guide your pencil as you create artwork that matches the mood of the music.
What You'll Need:
- Drawing paper
- Coloring tools such as markers, pastel chalks, and colored pencils
Step 1: Listen to a song on the radio. As you listen to it, draw the way it makes you feel. Use several coloring tools such as markers, pastel chalks, and colored pencils to experiment with colors. Think about the colors you would use with fast, slow, or marching music.
Step 2: After you finish that picture, change the station on the radio to find another song with a different tempo. Draw another picture.
Step 3: Keep experimenting with various types of music. Compare the pictures you made for the different kinds of music such as jazz, country, classical, and rock 'n' roll.
