Diorama Craft

Imagine what you can put in a diorama.

A shoe box becomes a window into a world of imagination when you build a diorama. Make a scene out of your wildest dreams by following these easy steps.

What You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Shoe box
  • Poster paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Blunt scissors
  • Construction paper
  • Craft glue

Step 1: Cover your work surface with newspaper. Make a jungle scene on the inside walls of your shoe box. Paint the ceiling blue and the floor brown. Let the paint dry.

Step 2: Cut out trees from construction paper, making sure to leave tabs in the bottoms. Cut a small slit in the center of each tab. Fold the two tab pieces in the opposite direction, and glue the trees standing in the jungle.

Step 3: Put some trees in the back and some in the front of the box to create depth. Cut out jungle animals such as lions, snakes, and monkeys, and glue them in place.

The next art craft is like a puzzle that you put together from pieces you make yourself.
