Clothespin People are an ideal rainy day craft project for kids. Help them create their own action figures -- family members, super heroes, or even an Olympic ski team!

How to Make Clothespin People:

What You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Slotted Round Wooden Clothespin
  • Acrylic Paints and Paintbrush
  • Fine-Point Markers
  • Pipe Cleaner
  • Craft Glue
  • Felt Scraps
  • Construction Paper

Step One: Cover your work surface with newspaper.

Step Two: Paint on clothes for your clothespin person, letting the paint dry between each section. Paint the bottom 1/2 inch for the shoes.

Step Three: Paint the slotted "legs" for the pants.

Step Four: Paint the top part of the clothespin body for the shirt. (Leave the knob unpainted.)

Step Five: Draw a face on the knob of the clothespin using fine-point markers.

Step Six: To make the arms, wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle of the shirt and glue it in place.

Step Seven: Cut a hat from felt, and glue it on top of the head.

Step Eight: Cut small paper skis, and glue them to the bottom of the clothespin legs.
