Nothing says Spring like flowers. Here is a super-easy craft that's easy to personalize and makes for a good bonding activity with parents, grandparents or siblings.

  • Terra cotta flower pot(s) (found at garden or craft stores)
  • Craft paint or markers
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Optional: stickers or family photos

First, paint your flower pot with one base color. Craft paint dries quickly, so you won't have to wait long until you're ready to use other paint colors or markers to finalize your decoration.

Now it's time to decorate! Glue ribbon, natural materials from your yard, family photos or anything else you want to your pot.

Final step: Fill it up with potting soil and decide what to plant! (Hint: herb plants are always an inexpensive way to go - and they make for great Mother's Day, Father's Day or Easter gifts.

One of the coolest aspects of this project is that you can spread out the creativity over time, add to it or make it thematic. You may start with one pot today but end up with a whole herb garden by the time you are done!
