For dads who love to grill out on warm summer afternoons, a personalized barbeque apron, mitts and tools can be a great Father's Day gift.

Materials:

  • Solid-colored canvas apron
  • Solid-colored oven mitts
  • Wood-handled grilling tools
  • Decorative materials, such as acrylic paint, permanent fabric paint, permanent fabric markers, paint sealer and sponges and paintbrushes.

Instructions:

First, the apron should be washed to prep it for decorating. Kids can use this time to plan what they'll be designing, and once the apron is ready, they can get to work painting. The apron and mitts can be decorated with a Father's Day theme, a barbeque theme, or other drawings the kids think dad will enjoy. They can use sponges, stamps and even handprints to personalize their craft.

Next, paint the wooden handles of the grilling tools. After they've had time to dry thoroughly, apply the paint sealer to protect the finished product.
