Father's Day Activities

Dad Snack

Dads like a snack now and then, especially on Father's Day. Make a special Dad snack with an extra helping of love and watch as he eats it up!

What You'll Need:

Recipe

Unsweetened dry cereal

Pretzel sticks

Mixed nuts

Goldfish or small rice crackers

1 tablespoon seasoning salt

1 tablespoon garlic salt

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon margarine

1 tablespoon oil

Materials:

Bowl

Spoon

Measuring cup and spoon

Saucepan

Baking sheet

Saucepan

Jar

Stickers

Ribbon

Just mix one box of cereal with handfuls of pretzel sticks, nuts, and small crackers. How much you use depends on how large your jar is.

Add 1 tablespoon each of seasoning salt, garlic salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Add the seasonings a little at a time, tasting to make sure the mix is not too salty. Remember, you can always add more seasoning later.

Have an adult help you with the stove. Melt 1/2 cup margarine with 1/2 cup oil in a saucepan over low heat. When the margarine melts, pour it over the cereal mixture.

Then spread the mix on a baking sheet, and put it in the oven for 90 minutes at 250 degrees. Stir the mixture every 15 minutes or so.

When the mix has cooled, fill a clean jar with it. Decorate the jar with stickers. Tie a ribbon around the jar's neck, and leave it beside Dad's favorite chair.

Does your Dad win the award for best in the world? If so, make him a Best Dad badge that he can wear proudly.
